The 6-month caregiving course offers a training in essential caregiving skills. It covers patient rights, effective communication, managing stress, and preventing abuse and neglect. Students will learn about infection control, service plans, and assisting with self-administration of medication. The course also includes topics like nutrition, hydration, exercise, vital signs, the aging process, and managing difficult behaviors, particularly for residents with dementia or those unable to direct their own care. Additionally, participants will develop skills in risk management, fall prevention, and housekeeping, ensuring holistic care for patients in various settings.
