When I first arrived in the UAE, I was working as a house cleaner. I was dedicated, I worked hard, and I paid the bills. But every single day, while cleaning homes, I looked around and thought, “I was meant for more.”
My heart ached for a job where I could truly make a difference, where I could look a person in the eye and feel like I was easing their pain. I dreamt of a career in healthcare, but honestly? It felt like an impossible leap. I didn’t know the first step.
Finding My Footing: The We Aspire Healthcare Program
Everything shifted the day I discovered We Aspire’s Healthcare Assistant Training Program.
For four months, this became my new purpose. The classes weren’t just boring lectures; they were practical, hands-on, and taught by Ms. Mhel, an incredibly dedicated instructor. We learned everything:
- Compassionate patient care and bedside manner.
- Essential hospital procedures and safety protocols.
- Handling medical equipment with confidence.
Every single session chipped away at my self-doubt and built a new layer of confidence. I realized this wasn’t just a dream—it was a skill I could master.
The Transformative 300 Hours
The real-world training came during the 300-hour internship at Saudi German Hospital.
This wasn’t practice; this was the real thing. I was assisting nurses, providing comfort to patients, and learning how a professional healthcare team operates under pressure. It was challenging, yes—there were moments that were emotional and exhausting—but every single moment was profoundly fulfilling.
Being in that hospital, not just as a cleaner but as an integral part of the care process, cemented my purpose. It’s the kind of hands-on experience that turns a wish into a rock-solid career path.
My New Uniform, My New Life
Today, I’m living the dream.
I am proudly working as a Nursing Assistant at a hospital in Ras Al Khaimah. When I put on my uniform and stand alongside the doctors and nurses, it still feels a little surreal. A few years ago, I was sweeping floors; today, I’m providing essential care as a valued healthcare professional.
My journey is proof that dedication, combined with the right training (and the essential KHDA-attested certification), can completely change your story. I went from feeling stuck to feeling purposeful.
